The circular economy project “From Waste to Taste” fights climate change by reducing food waste. Our goal is to build an organized surplus food collection network, a food recycling center and a restaurant that uses selected surplus as its main ingredient. The project also provides training and job opportunities to people that otherwise struggle finding jobs from open markets and helps them to find their way back to the working life.

The operation of From Waste to Taste project started in March 2016 as a pop up restaurant. Our next step is to open a permanent restaurant in May 2016. Therefore, we are now looking for a

Experienced Restaurant Manager preferably with degree in Social Services

to join the movement and help us building and running the restaurant. If you are passionate about good food, excellent customer service and sustainable lifestyle, you’re the person we want to meet!

As a Restaurant Manager you will be the head of the team working in the restaurant. You also get to participate in building the concept together with the project team and the creative chef. We expect that you have experience on how to run things all the way from managing staff and shift lists to setting up the dining room and designing menus together with the chef team. You are an inspiring, supportive and eloquent team leader with a positive can-do attitude and great eye for detail. You love working with people and therefore you and your team is always ready to take the extra mile to make customers happy. We appreciate great story telling skills as sharing our story is one of your key responsibilities. Experience on sourcing drinks, catering and/or marketing is seen as bonus.

Our team is multicultural; therefore strong skills at least in Finnish and English are required. Due to the social nature of the project, we value your expertise in professional guidance and supervision. Background in Social Services is a strong asset.

We are also looking for chefs and waiters to do extra shifts especially in the evenings and weekends.
